Walkenhorst Motorsport has named its first driver line-up for the 2024 Fanatec GT Europe season.
The 2018 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa winner announced last month that it will become an official Aston Martin partner in 2024, fielding three of the British marque's new Vantage models. Its first crew has been confirmed as a Bronze Cup entry comprising British drivers Tim Crewswick and Ben Green, as well as Dutch teenager Mex Jansen.
Creswick is a relative newcomer to top-line motorsport, though the Bronze-graded racer has previously driven GT3 machinery in the Intelligent Money British GT Championship and Le Mans Cup. Silver-rated Jansen graduates to Fanatec GT Europe following a successful 2023 season competing in ADAC GT4 Germany, which saw the Dutchman score five podiums for Walkenhorst Motorsport.
Green will be the squad's pro driver. The Brit made his Fanatec GT Europe debut last term, running the Endurance Cup finale for Walkenhorst. He comes with considerable GT3 and GT4 experience, notably in ADAC GT Masters, the majority of which has been at the wheel of BMW machinery.
Commenting on the announcement, Niclas Königbauer, Walkenhorst Motorsport's managing director, said: "Tim, Mex and Ben are really looking forward to their premiere in the Aston Martin Vantage GT3. The entire Walkenhorst Motorsport team is already raring to go for the 2024 season. Together, we are looking forward to the season opener - and of course the collaboration with AMR."
Walkenhorst Motorsport previously announced that its 2024 plans include a Pro car, which will be supported by Aston Martin Racing. The 2024 Fanatec GT Europe season will begin with the traditional Prologue at Circuit Paul Ricard (5/6 March), followed by a three-hour Endurance Cup race at the same venue on 5–7 April.
